Jan 07 19:19:41 *    Sonar_Gal gives daMaestro the floor
Jan 07 19:21:00 <daMaestro>    I've created about 5 new content types at this point and I think there is a simple way to create a content type that is just a clone of the current Page content type (as to keep us upstream compatable) and just use a manage_afterAdd function to pre-populate a template. I have not worked on it yet, but think it should be somewhat trival once we decide what we want. EOF

Jan 07 19:28:34 <Questor>    I am sorry.  I've been slow -- can someone describe what is a (Unity) workflow, and why do we need it?

Jan 07 19:28:51 *    Sonar_Gal gives daMaestro the floor
Jan 07 19:29:45 <daMaestro>    Plone has a workflow: State: private (owner is able to view, inherited roles are able to view) State: Public Draft (all are able to view, etc) Published: ( all are able to view)
Jan 07 19:29:53 <daMaestro>    (i'm making this up as i go, fyi)
Jan 07 19:30:02 <daMaestro>    the workflow helps to define these things
Jan 07 19:30:09 *    Sonar_Guy shows Questor http://lists.fedoraunity.org/pipermail/content-team/2006-December/000015.html
Jan 07 19:30:27 <daMaestro>    however, it is not only states.. it is other things. such as transitions between states.. and who is able to make those trasitions
Jan 07 19:30:40 <daMaestro>    also, what states are able to move to other states.. etc. EOF

Jan 07 19:33:39 <Corwyn>    Questor, I'll explain it further after the meeting eof
Jan 07 19:33:51 *    Sonar_Gal gives Sonar_Guy the floor
Jan 07 19:34:11 <Sonar_Guy>    No because we want the work flow changed from what the default is currently.  Once a post is published the author can not modify it and they should be able to do that.
Jan 07 19:34:13 <Sonar_Guy>    EOF
Jan 07 19:34:29 <Sonar_Gal>    8. # Back-ups!! Back-ups!! Back-ups!!

Jan 07 19:35:50 <Sonar_Guy>    Corwyn, please add a task to automate the testing of the ISOs, set the date for the last meeting in January.  I am currently working on that task. EOF
Jan 07 19:35:58 *    Sonar_Gal now opens the floor for discussion.
Jan 07 19:36:16 <Corwyn>    !
Jan 07 19:36:17 <daMaestro>    Questor, another example of what we need to do for states that would make everyones lives easier is:
Jan 07 19:36:40 <daMaestro>    a) State: Content-Team (content team members are able to edit the post and make revisions) ....
Jan 07 19:36:42 <Sonar_Gal>    Corwyn, open floor
Jan 07 19:36:43 <Corwyn>    ok eof
Jan 07 19:37:05 <daMaestro>    b) State: Edit-Team (edit team members are able to make changes and new versions)
Jan 07 19:37:06 <Sonar_Guy>    same with edit team.
Jan 07 19:37:15 <daMaestro>    c) only the edit team is able to publish a document
Jan 07 19:37:32 <Sonar_Guy>    +1
Jan 07 19:37:42 <daMaestro>    d) both teams may retract the document to the submitted state
Jan 07 19:37:43 <daMaestro>    etc etc
Jan 07 19:37:54 <daMaestro>    these are just examples of what we are working to setup
Jan 07 19:38:11 <Sonar_Guy>    also the authors should be able to retract/modify posts no matter where the content resides but edit team has final approval.
Jan 07 19:38:14 <daMaestro>    it gives is a much better and more productive document workflow with a nice ACL system (using our ldap backend)
Jan 07 19:38:28 <daMaestro>    Sonar_Guy, yes, include that in any outline i am given
Jan 07 19:39:10 <Sonar_Guy>    As it is right now once I move the post to the correct folder/location they can no longer modify the post.
Jan 07 19:39:19 <daMaestro>    also, this will make it very easy for a team member to see what needs to to be done
Jan 07 19:39:34 <daMaestro>    we can setup a team only smart folder that lists all the documents in the "edit team" state
Jan 07 19:39:37 <daMaestro>    etc etc etc etc
Jan 07 19:39:50 <Corwyn>    Oh, I'd like to make an announcement on behalf of the Edit Team.
Jan 07 19:40:08 <Southern_Gentlem>    daMaestro, ask about  the google thing
Jan 07 19:40:24 <Corwyn>    In case people weren't aware, Questor has rejoined Unity and has joined the Edit Team.
Jan 07 19:40:26 <daMaestro>    will do, was waiting to finish up workflow discussion.
Jan 07 19:40:36 <daMaestro>    Questor, ! :-P
Jan 07 19:40:46 <StylusEater>    this is not meant to be a critique or anything...but why did you all create fedoraunity?  (I've read the introduction, but it seems like a decent amount of stuff on fedoraproject.org is in place)
Jan 07 19:40:54 <daMaestro>    Questor, once we pound out all the workflow stuff.. we will get you access.
Jan 07 19:41:25 <Questor>    Corwyn, which team is it you are the head of?
Jan 07 19:41:25 <Corwyn>    On that note, I've granted him Designated Authority privs to publish posts when he edits and finalizes them.
Jan 07 19:41:26 <Sonar_Guy>    StylusEater: because we can cover stuff that an end user wants to see that the docs project can not cover such as forbiden items.
Jan 07 19:41:33 <Questor>    I get confused between 'edit' and 'content'....
Jan 07 19:41:34 <Corwyn>    Edit Team :)
Jan 07 19:41:37 <daMaestro>    Strikeforce, so we can do what we want.. outside the bounds of fedora project
Jan 07 19:41:43 <StylusEater>    Sonar_Guy: such as binary blob drivers?
Jan 07 19:41:49 <daMaestro>    while still upholding the quality that fedora project proper holds
Jan 07 19:42:11 <Sonar_Guy>    yes, and 3rd part drivers, mp3, etc. . .
Jan 07 19:42:15 <StylusEater>    so the "grey team" for fedora... :-)
Jan 07 19:42:45 <StylusEater>    as in...having to work in the "grey" to get things done in "real" life
Jan 07 19:42:46 <Southern_Gentlem>    no we are a community of fedora users doing what we can for the community
Jan 07 19:42:46 <Sonar_Guy>    StylusEater: if you want to call it that, I say end user tailored information.
Jan 07 19:42:53 <daMaestro>    ok.. well as Southern_Gentlem mentioned.. i'd like to know if we want to start using google analytics http://google.com/analytics
Jan 07 19:43:12 <Corwyn>    Questor, personally, I stay out of Content Team business except where it overlaps Edit Team, that way we don't get entangled in issues and can get work done. :)
Jan 07 19:43:28 <daMaestro>    StylusEater, stick around.. you will start to pick up on the many projects we have going
Jan 07 19:43:35 <Southern_Gentlem>    daMaestro,  +1
